Dr. Bob Lay, Dean of The Urban Ministry Institute started with a spiritual breakfast of Ruth 1:16: “For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
Thank Chosen Generation Church, Pastor Cedric Nelms and Jay Eaton for their support.
Give appreciation and thanks to our faithful volunteers, Karen Wheeler Anderson, her family and students who help rain or shine.
And our brother Jamie Jaramillo whose answer to God’s calling always is YES.
We thank God for providing all we need, even His light – Jesus’ light ALWAYS shines when we serve.
Let us give God a big applause and sing Hallelujah! To God Be The Glory. Amen.
Here comes Steve, a retired, humble, respectful veteran who we met at Skid Row 3 years ago. He’s come to visit from time to time just say hi. Last Sunday he came with his car very excited telling me he is working for Uber now. He got a job. He can walk independently. All these things happen because of God’s grace and miracles. Steve committed coming to serve the community he left 3 years ago. Praise the Lord.
POLICE OFFICERS SAID “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES FOR THE COMMUNITY.”
Last Sunday we had double parked in front of parking lot. Suddenly while we were packing to leave, a police car stopped right behind our car. I immediately approached the officers’ car, apologizing and explaining we would move in minutes. The officers said, “Don’t worry. We just want to let you know that we thank you for your services for the community.”
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord. To God be the Glory. Amen. Amen. Amen!
Being homeless usually they are trying to hide their past, they are shy and feel shame, have extremely low self-esteem and this is blended with some sort of pride. It sounds complicated and hard to reach out to their hearts. The first time when I started to share the Gospel and my little mobile Christian library with them, I hesitated to hug them because of the unpleasant smell. I cared for them from a distance. They kept me at a distance as well. I couldn’t reach out to the unreachable to bring the glory to God. I was frustrated. When I got home, I wasn’t happy. I felt I was a hypocrite. My inward didn’t match my outward. I kept praying, asking God to change my heart and help me. Then the Word revealed in my heart:
Our Lord, Savior Jesus Christ reached out to the lepers, why can’t we?
The first greatest commandment is: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
The second greatest commandment is: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Now they are my friends; even some who claimed they were Jewish or Muslim before, started reading Christian books.
God is working around us and through us to accomplish the work for the Kingdom all the time. Reach out to the unreachable, touch the untouchable. God will do the rest. We need to grasp every opportunity that God puts in our hand. That’s a command not a suggestion!
Melinda Rodriguez is another great testimony, of God’s grace and love in her life. Congratulations Melinda! We are proud of you. Love you!
Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) – “5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Let’s sing “Hallelujah. Praise the Lord.” Amen!

Yesterday some brothers and sisters asked me “Jennifer are we still meeting at Skid Row if it’s pouring?”. “Yes. It will stop when we get there.”
Yesterday till 9:20pm I couldn’t find anyone available to help us to pick up burgers at 7:45 am this morning and bring them to Skid Row to serve. The only choice at that time was – I pick up and have no time to share the message with our friends. I prayed for God’s will. Sure enough, at 9:30pm brother Jamie Jaramillo who I didn’t ask, offered to help. I shared the Happiness with our Church. And shared the message of How to be Happy as God’s plan.
No Joy – No Strength. It’s not your problems that are problems. It is the way you see your problems. When God and others are more important to you than yourself, that’s where you find your happiness. Our true happiness is in Jesus and our future with Him. If we are faithful, we can have unspeakable joy and fullness of glory now, in this life.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (ESV) – “as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
