A Cry For Help

Last Sunday right after the service, Pamela put this letter in my hand with tearing eyes. She looked into my heart searching for help. This is the reason we keep coming back to bring God’s hope to His children.

The letter says –
“My name is Pamela. I am asking for prayer for myself. I am fighting my demon all by myself. It feels like, I know that God is there with me. I need help in housing. Releasing my inner fear of ….,, to hold my head up high and walk as a child of God again. Help me pray for me and people just like me who is lost. I really want to say thank you for the people who come every Sunday and teaches, help, share the Word of God.
Jenn, please if you can text me or call me with a prayer. Ps. Thank you Jen for your believing and share yourself with me. And please Jen don’t give up on me. I need your help not only on Sunday but as much as often as you can. My no. xxx-xxx-xxxx or email me xxxxx@gmail.com”

Pamela is attending our Church every Sunday. Will you write a prayer for her and all our friends out there? Let them know they are not alone. God saved us from hopelessness, now is the time for us to bring hope to them – we all are God’s children.

You can email to jesusknowsmyname7@gmail.com. I will cover your name if you request and print it out for her, or others.

Isaiah 43:1-2 (Israel’s Only Savior, also our Only SAVIOR!)

“43:1 But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.”

Our Goal, Our Friends’ Dream

OUR GOAL, OUR FRIENDS’ DREAM – Homeless Transitional Housing

This was 3 years ago. we participated in Community Day and Open House (for Homeless Transitional Housing). Unfortunately, they closed the housing for the homeless. This became Jesus Knows My Name Ministry – Church Without Walls’ goal and also our homeless friends’ dream, to help them back on their feet.

I am asking for your fervent prayers and help to make connections to entities and parties to support this vision and make this dream come true with God’s grace and mercy.

Jesus Said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” – Matthew 25:40

Pray For Skid Row

Thanks to Andrew Cockburn for sharing this message from Police Officer Deon Joseph:

TO MY FB FAM AND FOLLOWERS. SAY A PRAYER FOR SKID ROW TONIGHT

Please keep the Skid Row in your thoughts and prayers. It has truly become a health and safety issue. This past month there were so many stabbings. Some were reported. Others not reported because the people are afraid to do so.

I’ve seen too many bloody victims this week alone. I had to try to stop the bleeding of a man who was stabbed in the lung and liver, over a question about a tent. A young woman and her boyfriend were beaten with a tire iron. A man got into an argument with some gang member and was stabbed in the back.

A woman was was robbed by two female gang members, and as she reported it to the police, a male gang member allegedly pointed a gun at her to try to keep her silent. She told me she was so afraid to leave her hotel room that she had not bought groceries for two weeks or been able to wash clothes. I had to buy her detergent and two weeks of food to last her until she could be relocated.

That same criminal beat another woman because she did not want to be with him anymore.

Fights are breaking out over tents. Women are being sexually assaulted in tents when they try to buy drugs, and because of the restrictions in enforcement now, we can’t stop the tents that are the breeding grounds for these kinds of crimes.

A 60 year old man was found dead in a tent. Maybe if someone could have seen him, they may have been able to save him. To add insult to injury, as he was dead, others ransacked his tent, and stole his property instead of calling for help.

Just last night as I was leaving work after a long work week, I see a woman bleeding from the back of her head, from being struck with an unknown object over a verbal dispute. She was a new face. There was blood on the station walls, and all down her shirt and neck. The shock in her eyes was telling of how bad things get when the homeless., become above the law.

There must be order. With no order, there is no recovery zone. If there is no recovery zone, there is no recovery. We have to put teeth back in the laws so we can create a safer environment. What is happing now is failing them, and many other communities as encampments begin to spread in other parts of the city and county. Not because of the weather. (We have always had nice weather.). But because Skid Row has become so dangerous and unpredictable, that many homeless don’t feel safe there, even thought there are resources there like shelters with services.

This is why they are popping up in other communities. Because skid row is too dangerous to be homeless. Many were told that now you can come to LA and be homeless, and no one could touch you. But they come to skid row and get touched by the criminal element.

The mentally ill population is growing, and they are becoming more unstable due to the environment and dual diagnosis (being mentally ill and addicted). It is so hard to watch their conditions exacerbating right in front of my eyes.

To other cities in the county and places across this nation, please do not dump your homeless or mentally ill problems in Skid Row. It is not safe or humane to do so.

If you have a loved one in Skid Row, please go find them and get them out. Skid Row is truly no place to be homeless.

I cannot begin to tell you how frustrating this is as a first responder. When you know you can fix this, but your hands have been tied so, that all you are left with is being visible to try to stave off the crime, but cannot be there all the time because the level of criminality won’t allow you stay in one place for a long enough period of time to make any impact.

Prop 47, and AB109 has emboldened criminals like I have never seen it before. They know we can’t send them back, and as a result, they know they have almost free reign over the community members they victimize.

This is not a message about me giving up, I won’t ever do that. it’s just showing you would many don’t want you to see and won’t report.

So you will know what to pray for tonight.

I just wish I could just have two hours on the state capital floor to inform them on what is happening. That is my biggest prayer. Not to accuse them, but to inform them on the reality of skid row and homelessness. We have to stop politicizing this issue and do the real work from a truth based foundation.

I at least thank you all for listening. God bless.

Preparation For Communion Next Sunday

1 Corinthians 11:23-32

1. We need to look back.
2. According to verse 26, we are proclaiming the Lord’s
death until He comes.
3. We are announcing what Jesus did for us on the cross.
4. We not only look back, we need to look within. Verse 28 – “examine yourself.” We must examine ourselves and depend on God to forgive our sins but we must not partake of the communion with unconfessed sin in our life, and remember the Blood was shed for us.

We should be expectantly waiting for the return of our Savior. Pregnant with anticipation of our Lord’s return, and look forward to the return and to the marriage feast of the Lamb that we will share in the return of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 19:6,9 – “’6 Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns…’ 9 ‘,,,Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the true words of God.’”
Look inward and get yourself ready with God and look forward to the return of the God man we remember and celebrate together next Sunday.

GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD –
ANOTHER LOST AND FOUND NEEDS PRAYER

Alberto Sanchez is back. He was sick and has been transferred from doctor to doctor, hospital to hospital. He showed up this Sunday claiming that he wants to be baptized. He said he will be back this coming Sunday to have a baptism class and get ready for the following Sunday to be baptized.
After our Lord extended Alberto’s life more than 15 years, he has been wanting to be baptized. Now is the time, God’s will. Would you please join us to pray for Alberto’s faith, healing, and God’s will be done?

Matthew 18:19-20 – “19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

I Am Fired

My friend Mark is not a Christian – but when we just met a week ago he stopped me and brought up church or Christian.

Yesterday he saw me buying and preparing food to cook for our friends and serve this Sunday. He offered to help. His daughter-in-law is a chef who became our online consultant. Mark took over the kitchen. I made my notes for future cooking needs.
Mark asked me if we serve every Sunday. I said yes. He offered, “I will help you to cook.” So I am fired from kitchen! Thank God.

What’s next?! Mark will be one of our brothers in God’s time and will. With God all things are possible. Let us pray for Mark.

LATER – follow-up posted October 12:

I AM FIRED (continued) – GOD ANSWERED PRAYER
Mark was asking earlier today, when will be next time to cook for our friends. He claimed, “I will go with you to serve. It feels good.” Yes. Our joy all comes from above. We are the receivers by God’s grace.

What’s next?! Keep praying for Mark. He will accept our Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in God’s timing.

Let us be the salt and light of the earth (Matthew 5:13-16). Let Jesus’ light shine through us to many. “This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.” (John 15:8).

ARE YOU JESUS’ DISCIPLES?!

A Special Day For All

Yesterday we had the honor to hear Dr. Bob Lay‘s preaching. Look! Even the birds were lining up to listen the whole time.

Yesterday we celebrated brother Kevin Lewandowski and brother George’s 7 years and 3 years clean and sober, and brother George’s birthday with all of the Church without Walls attendants.

At the end of celebration, a regular attendant, an Israeli brother, came with this had been prayed brand new bracelet to put on me. He claimed that he went up to a mountain to pray and ask for blessings from God to bless the church and for me to wear this bracelet, and explained that’s why he didn’t attend church this morning. When he saw me, he just raised the bracelet above his head and straight put it on my wrist. And he rushed away saying, “I need to go back to the mountain pray for Church without Walls and you continuously.”

Afterwards we fellowshipped with our volunteers with Chinese food.

Please join us in prayer that the “Special Days” keep coming in God’s time and according to His perfect Will. And His Will be done. We are bond-servants of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let us lift up Jesus Christ on high. Let Jesus’ light shine through all of us!

God loves you very much and so do I.
